Leveling up fitness with this strategy is more effective if your character is over-encumbered. Running and jogging both passively level up fitness. Once you’ve actually started your game of Project Zomboid, you can continue to level up your character’s fitness skills. Though the fitness instructor career offers three levels in fitness and two in sprinting, The Fire Officer career gives players one level in fitness and levels in other important skills like strength and sprinting. There are two careers that offer more levels of fitness. The second trait is fit, and this trait gives another two levels of fitness. The athletic trait gives players four fitness levels and lower endurance loss when running. Out of the almost thirty traits available in Project Zomboid, there are only two that boost your starting level for the fitness skill. The skill increases your character’s endurance, increases attack speed, reduces the risk of your character tripping, and increases the speed of endurance recovery. But really, fitness is a crucial skill to improve. One of the most important skills that many players neglect in Project Zomboid is fitness.
